Naturally One of a Kind
Live edge serving boards highlight the organic shape and character of the wood. Each board preserves the tree’s natural edge, resulting in unique grain patterns, curves, and markings that make no two pieces alike.
Designed for serving, entertaining, and display, these boards are crafted from solid hardwood and finished to be food-safe and durable. Variations in color and edge shape are part of what makes live edge boards distinctive and special.
Designed for Entertaining & Everyday Display
Live edge serving boards are created with presentation in mind. The natural contours of the wood are intentionally preserved, allowing each board to showcase its unique grain pattern and edge profile. This design makes live edge boards especially well suited for charcuterie spreads, grazing tables, and shared appetizers.
Unlike cutting boards built for heavy knife work, serving boards prioritize surface space, visual appeal, and ease of use. They’re ideal for light slicing, arranging food, and serving directly to guests, while also functioning as a decorative element when not in use.
Finished with a food-safe beeswax conditioner, these boards are ready to use and easy to maintain. Their versatility makes them a favorite for hosting, gifting, and everyday kitchen styling.
For tasks that require frequent chopping or heavy knife use, a cutting board is a better choice. Many kitchens keep both on hand — a serving board for presentation and an end grain cutting board for daily prep.
Serving Boards vs Cutting Boards
Live edge serving boards are designed for presentation, grazing, and light slicing, while cutting boards are built for frequent knife work and food prep.
If you love hosting, charcuterie, or displaying your boards between uses, a serving board is ideal. For daily chopping and prep, a cutting board offers durability and knife-friendly performance. Many customers choose one of each for maximum versatility in the kitchen.
Care & Use
Can I cut on a live edge serving board?
Light slicing of cheese, fruit, or bread is fine. For frequent or heavy chopping, we recommend using a cutting board designed specifically for knife work.
Are live edge serving boards food-safe?
Yes. Each board is finished with a food-safe beeswax conditioner and is safe for serving food.
How do I clean and care for my serving board?
Simply hand wash with warm water and mild soap, towel dry it immediately and then stand it on it's edge until completely dry. To keep it looking its best, we recommend conditioning the wood once a month. You’ll receive a care card and a tin of the Bee Restored wood conditioner with your board that includes step-by-step instructions.
Will my board look exactly like the photos?
No two live edge boards are identical due to natural grain patterns and edge variations. Your board will be similar in size and style but uniquely its own.
Are these boards meant for daily use or special occasions?
Both. Many customers use them for everyday serving and keep them on display between uses due to their natural, decorative look.
